Phototeam Stuff

Olin kokonaan unohtanut postata kuvia viime valokuvauskerralta Phototeamin kanssa, joten ajattelin laittaa nyt niitä tänne samalla kun postaan kuvia viime perjantailta. Perjantaina ei tuntunut yhtään siltä et haluaisin lähtee ottamaan kuvia koska väsytti ja ärsytti ja halusin vaan mennä koulun jälkeen kotiin, mutta kun mä sit vihdoin pääsin kuvailemaan niin unohdin kokonaan sen ärsytyksen ja lopulta olin toi iloinen että raahauduin sinne kuvaukseen Lacyn kanssa!

Ajattelin kertoa mun lukujärjestyksestä teille, koska mulla on uusia aineita ja oon nyt alkanut päättämään että mitä mieltä mä niistä oon. Tää lukukausi on ollut paljon parempi mun mielestä, koska lopetin sen espanjan koska sitä tuntia mä aina kammosin. Puolet mun oppiaineista on vanhoja: U.S. History, World Studies ja Algebra II löyty mun lukujärjestyksestä jo ensimmäisellä lukukaudella. Mulla on kuitenkin kolme uutta ainetta: Speech, Commercial Art ja Composition. Speech eli puhe on yks mun lemppareista. Halusin ekana ottaa Novels B:n koska olin Novels A:ssa ekalla lukukaudella ja nautin siitä tosi paljon, mutta se oli jo täynnä. Speechissä on kuitenkin sama opettaja, joten se on ollut tosi kivaa. Ajattelin myös, että voisin hieman päästä mun kammosta puhua ihmisten edessä menemällä sinne! Commercial Art on mun ainut taideaine ja oon nauttinut siitä niin paljon. En ois koskaan uskonut että tuun tykkäämään taiteesta! Se opettaja on kuitenkin niin mahtava, tosi hauska ja tunnit on aina mielenkiintoisia. Nautin eniten torstain tunneista sillä sillon me tutustutaan aina johonkin uuteen taitelijaan ja ne tunnit on aina tosi kivoja. Composition on toinen enkun kurssi mulla, ja päätin ottaa sen koska tarvitsin jonkun täyttämään lukujärjestystä. Compostion on kirjoitustunti ja ajattelin, että se ois tosi hyvää harjotusta enkun kirjotuksiin parin vuoden päästä.

Lisäksi, mun paluupäivä Suomeen on päätetty. Se on 18. kesäkuuta. Mä en suoraan sanoen haluais miettiä koko juttua. Vaikka koti-ikävää oon potenut jo aika kauan niin en haluais lähteä... vähän vaikeuttaa oloa täällä USA:ssa se että mä oon jo neljättä kertaa flunssassa. En oo yleensä näin monesti kipeenä Suomessa, joten en tiedä mitä tää on, mutta vähän inhottavaa kun tuntuu että oon kipeenä joka toinen viikko ja vaikee keskittyä tunneilla kun tuntuu että aivot on täynnä räkää!

I completely forgot to post pictures from a photoshoot I had with Phototeam last month, so I thought I would post them now along the pictures from last Friday. I didn't feel like going for a photoshoot on Friday at all, I was pissed off and just wanted to go home, but when I went I felt so much happier and forgot my bad feelings!
I thought I would tell you a little about my classes because I have new ones and I have already started to figure out how I feel about them. This semester has been so much more fun, mainly because I got rid of Spanish since I dreaded that class. Half of my classes were the same from my first semester: U.S. History, World Studies, and Algebra II were subjects that I studied during the fall, too. I do have three new classes though, Speech, Commercial Art, and Composition. Speech is one of my favorite classes. I wanted to take Novels B but that was full already, and because Speech has the same teacher as Novels, I decided to take that one instead. I thought it would also be good for me because I'm terrified of talking in front of people. Commercial Art is so much fun, I never truly thought I could enjoy art but I have been so happy with that class. I love the art teacher, she's Super funny and the classes are always really interesting. I mostly enjoy Thurdays because we get to know different artists and their work. I took Composition because I wanted to improve my writing skills and also I had an empty space. I thought it would be a great practice for my final exams in Finland, too.
Also, I will return to Finland on the 18th of June. I really don't want to think about the whole thing... even though I feel homesick I really don't want to leave! I have been sick a lot lately though (this is the fourth time I have cold here) even though I'm usually not sick that often. It kinda sucks to sit in your classes when you can't focus!

Disneyland Truly is the Happiest Place on Earth

Viime viikolla sain todella kaivattua lomaa Washingtonin kylmyydestä kun maanantaina lennettiin Aneheimiin, Kaliforniaan! Mä ja mun hostperhe vietettiin yhteensä neljä päivää Disneylandissa, joka on siis todellakin "maailman onnellisin paikka". Siellä ei oikein voinut olla huonolla tuulella, kun tuntui, että oli astunut suoraan Disneyn parhaimpiin elokuviin! Pelottavia vuoristoratoja ja muita sydemän tykytyksiä eiheuttavia huvipuistolaitteita ei Disneylandista löytynyt, vaan enemmänkin jäin arvostamaan niitä tarinoita. Koko se puisto, sekä Disneyland ja Disney California Adventures (huvipuisto Disneylandin vieressä jossa oli enemmän laitteita mun makuun) oli niin hyvin suunniteltu, Tuhkimon linna ja kaikki ne söpöt pikku kaupat ja kaikki ne pienet yksityiskohdat sai mut rakastumaan siihen paikkaan!

Maanantain lennot meni melko hyvin. Lennettiin Spokanesta Oaklandiin ja Oaklandista sitten Anaheimiin. Meidän lento Spokanesta oli myöhässä, joten Oaklandissa saikin sitten hieman hyötyliikuntaa koska meidän piti juosta seuraavalle lennolle. Mä jopa nukuin viime viikolla, vaikka yleensä nukun niin kamalan huonosti vieraissa paikoissa. Eka yö oli tosin aika vaikea, koska jossain vaiheessa hostveli Elijah rupes huutamaan unissaan jotain porkkanoista (se tekee sitä kuulema aika paljonkin) ja mä tipuin sängystä ja löin selkäni yöpöytään. Toi oli jotenki ihan outo kokemus mulle, koska en itse muista tippuneeni koskaan sängystä. Sain mukavan naarmun selkään, mutta toivotaan että saisin siistin arven kuitenkin!

Disneylandissa oli paljon Linnanmäen Kummitusjunan tapaisia laitteita, mutta ne oli kaikki eri elokuvista. Mun mieleen jäi ainakin Pieni merenneito, Pinocchio ja Liisa Ihmemaassa. Mun lemppareita näistä oli kaksi laitetta, missä sun piti ampua esteisiin. Molemmat oli Toy Storylta ja mä olin niissä molemmissa aika traagisen surkea. Lisäksi oli 3D elokuvia, joista mun ehdoton lemppari oli Ötökän elämää -elokuva - mä en hirveästi perusta noista 3D elokuvista huvipuistoissa, Lintsillä tulee aina käytyä kerran siinä ja se on mulle ihan tarpeeks, mutta toi oli aivan mahtava, siellä oli oikeeta savua, hajuja, katosta tippui jopa jättimäisiä hämähäkkejä! Mun hostveljellä on kauhea hämähäkkikammo, ja se sai sen melkein kuolemaan siellä teatterissa. Lisäksi Soarin' Over California oli tosi hyvä, siinä tuntui siltä että oikeasti lentäisi Kalifornian yli mikä oli tosi siistiä.

Tapasin monia Disneyhahmoja, kuten Hessun, Pluton, Ineksen, Mikki Hiiren, Kapteeni Koukun, Flikin ja Cruella De Vilin. Cruella De Vil oli aivan älyttämän hauska, ja hieman ilkeä! Se kysyi mun nimeä ja kun kerroin että olen Suvituuli, niin se sanoi, että "se ei tule toimimaan Disneylandissa", ja että tarvitsisin kunnon lavanimen. Hän antoi mulle jopa uuden nimen: Sarah!

Mun lempparilaitteita oli Hollywood Tower Hotel (tai Tower of Terror), California Screamin', Radiator Spring Racers, Soarin' Over California, Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean ja se Ötökän elämää elokuva, It's Tough to be a Bug! Lisäksi tykkäsin niistä ampumisjutuista, tosin mä oon huono häviäjä joten ei tehnyt hyvää egolle hävitä joka kerta.

Perjantaina vietettiin ystävänpäivää, ja mä sain hostäidiltä suklaata ystävänpäivälahjaksi. Perjantaina me katottiin paraati, joka oli Disneylandissa joka ilta. Muina iltoina me kuitenkin mentiin laitteisiin, sillä jonot oli tosi lyhyitä kun muut katseli paraatia!

Lisäksi perjantaina oli Disneylandissa ilotulitus, ja paikka oli täynnä - musta tuntuu, että se johtu siitä et kaikki oli et "iik ihanaa ystävänpäivä ja ilotulitus, niin söpöö hei!!1 <3". Se ilotulitus oli niin mahtava! En oo koskaan nähny mitään lähellekään niin suurta kuin mitä sillon oli.

Kaliforniassa meni suurin osa ajasta Disneylandissä, mutta me kerettiin myös käymään muun muassa katsomassa merta - mun eka kerta kun näin Tyynenmeren! - ja hieman katselemassa kaupunkia. Toi meri oli jotenki niin ihana, oli niin rauhallinen olo ja tuli jotenki haukeekin olo. En tiedä että mitä sit haikailin, haha!

Eli siis, yhden ihanan viikon kokemukset mielessä voin jatkaa mun vaihtovuotta. Enää neljä kuukautta jälkellä, jotenkin hullua aatella että yli puolet on mennyt jo... jotenki jopa pelottavaa, en oo todellakaan vielä valmis lähtemään täältä. Onneks neljä kuukautta on kuitenkin melko pitkä aika ja kerkeen tehdä vielä vaikka mitä!

Last week I got a really needed vacation from the coldness of Washington when I traveled to Anaheim, California on Monday! My host family and I spent four days in Disneyland, which truly is "the happiest place on earth". You really just couldn't be grumpy when you felt like you had just stepped in your favorite Disney movies! There wasn't any scary roller coasters or other rides that would make you sweat, but the place was more about the stories. The whole place, both Disneyland and Disney California Adventures (an amusement park right next to Disneyland that had more rides for my taste) was so well planned, Cinderella's Castle and all the cute little stores and all the details just made me fall in love with that place.
The flights went pretty well. We flew from Spokane to Oakland and then continued to Anaheim. Our flight from Spokane was a little late so we had to run to the next flight in Oakland! I slept pretty dang well considering that I'm absolutely the worst at sleeping in other places than my own bed. Though the first night in California was quite chaotic, because Elijah started to yell in his sleep something about carrots and I fell off my bed and hit my back in the night stand. It was really bizarre because I've never ever fallen out of my bed! I did get kind of a horrible looking scratch, but I'm hoping I'll get a cool scar from it.
In Disneyland most of the rides were quite slow but still cool: it was like you had just landed inside the movies. I remember Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, and Alice in Wonderland the best! My favorite rides from the slow rides were these two where you had to shoot stuff. Both of them were from Toy Story and I sucked in both of them, which kind of hit my ego pretty bad... Also, there were many 3D movies, and my absolute favorite was the movie for Bug's Life, I was just like "oh my gosh" when I got out of there even though usually I don't really care for the 3D movies. But seriously, there was smoke, smell, and huge spiders that came out of the ceiling1 Although my host Brother Elijah, who is terribly scared of spiders, pretty much died watching that movie. I also liked Soarin' over California, you felt like you were flying over California and it was really cool!
In Disneyland I met a lot of the Disney characters like Goofy, Pluto, Ines, Mickey Mouse, Captain Hook, Flik, and Cruell De Vil. Cruella De Vil was hilarious, and a little mean! She asked my name and I told that I was Suvituuli, so she said that "it will not work in Disneyland", and that I need a good stage name. She even gave me one: Sarah.
My favorite rides were Hollywood Tower Hotel (or Tower of Terror), California Screamin', Radiator Spring Racers, Soarin' Over California, Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, and that 3D movie for Bug's Life, It's tough to be a Bug or whatever it was called! I also liked the shooting rides.
On Friday we spent Valentine's Day and I got chocolate from my host mom as a gift. At the end of Friday we saw the parade that happened every night. Other nights we went to rides because the rights were really short when other people were watching the parade.
Also, on Fridays Disneyland has fireworks and the place was pretty packed. I think it was because everyone was like "oh my goooosh, fireworks on Valentine's day, that's so romantic!!1 <3". But anyway, the fireworks were FRICKING AWESOME! I've never ever seen anything like that, it was HUGE.
In California we spent most of the time in Disneyland but we did have some time to see other parts of Anaheim. For example we went to see the ocean - it was the first time I saw the Pacific Ocean! - and I saw the city, too. The ocean was so awesome, I felt so calm and everything.
So, with these memories it is so wonderful to continue my exchange year. Just four months left! It's crazy to think that over a half of my year is already gone! It's a good thing that four months is still a long time and I'll have time to do all kinds of things.
