Moikka! Mun nimi on Suvituuli (mutta mun lempinimi on Susku), ja oon 17-vuotias tyttö, joka on lähdössä vaihtoon Yhdysvaltoihin lukuvuodeksi 2013-2014. Järjestönä mulla on UP Education, johon oon kyllä ollu erittäin tyytyväinen ainaki tähän mennessä eikä mulla oo ollu Upin kaa mitään ongelmia.
Oh, America! on siis mun blogi jossa tulee olemaan pääasiassa tekstejä mun tulevasta vaihtarivuodesta, ja blogia aloittelen kirjoittelemaan kavereiden ja sukulaisten vuoksi. Saatan kuitenkin kirjoitella kesän tapahtumista jos jotai kiinnostavaa sattuu tapahtumaan!
Mun tuleva koti USA:ssa tulee olemaan Washingtonin osavaltiossa sijaitseva pieni Colvillen kaupunki. Washington oli mun ensimmäinen osavaltiotoive ja olin siis erittäin iloinen kun sinne pääsin! :) Mun perheeseen kuuluu äiti, isä ja neljä lasta, 19-, 17- ja 12-vuotiaat tytöt ja 9-vuotias poika. Vanhin tyttö ei kuitenkaan asu enää kotona, vaan on jo opiskelemassa muualla. Lemmikkeinä perheessä on maltankoira ja kilpikonna. Oon todella innoissani mun perheestä ja oon ton 17-vuotiaan tytön kanssa jutelluki jo aika paljon Facebookissa ja pari kertaa webkameranki kautta.
Tuun käymään Colvillessa Colville High Schoolia jossa on noin 700 oppilasta. Oon jo jotenki vahingossa luvannu tolle mun hostsiskolle et rupeen harrastamaan socceria, omg.
Lento Amerikkaan lähtee 15.08.! Lennän yhden toisen Washingtoniin menevän vaihtarin kanssa Helsingistä Reykjavikin kautta Seattleen asti josta mun pitää vielä jatkaa yksin Spokaneen. Jännittää!!

My name is Suvituuli (but my nick name is Susku), and I'm a 17-year-old girl from Sotkamo (in Finland), who's going to America as an exchange student! My organization is UP Education, and I've been very pleased with this organization so far and I haven't had any problems with it!
Oh, America! is my blog, and I will be posting stuff in here about my exchange year. I'm writing this blog mostly because of my family and my friends. I might write about my time in Finland before I leave if something interesting happens!
The town I'll be living in the USA is going to be a small town called Colville in the state of Washington. Washington was the state that I hoped I would go to, and I was super happy when I was placed there! There are six members in my host family: mom, dad and four children, girls that are 19, 17 and 12 years old and 9-year-old boy. The oldest girl doesn't live home anymore though, she is already studying elsewhere. There is also a couple of pets in my family, a maltese dog and a turtle. I'm very excited about my host family and I've been talking quite a lot to the 17-year-old girl on Facebook and we've also had a couple of Skype calls.
In Colville I'll be attending Colville High School. There are about 700 students in that school, which is quite a lot to me! I've somehow already promised my host sister that I'll start doing soccer, omg. But it'll be a lot of fun, I'm sure!
My flight to America leaves on August 15th! I'm going to be flying with another exchange student that is going to Washington. We'll be flying first from Helsinki to Reykjavík and then from there we'll fly to Seattle. I still have to continue my journey to Spokane alone. I'm so excited!!
